We are running a direct bury 1 inch PE gas line from the side of our garage under a sand set patio to a fire pit we are having installed. The line will be about 45 feet long and buried about 18 inches deep. Two questions: The PE line will cross above the water line from our well to our house, which is buried about 24" deep. It will also have to cross below a low voltage line for our sprinkler system that is buried 6" below grade. Is there any separation requirement between PE gas lines and a water lines or low voltage lines? We are just trying to be very safe. A retired plumber will be installing it for us and we plan to permit the new line. The permit people were not helpful on these two questions. We will be asking the plumber these questions, but sometimes like to check for facts independently. Thanks!

you may need to be separated vertically a minimum distance. If I remember correctly my gas line had to be separated vertically where it crossed the electric service to my garage
