I'm looking to do some significant drainage a bit later this spring/summer.

I would like to use some culvert pipe similar to what you see DOT use for stormwater. This is the corrogated plastic pipe that is smooth on the inside.

For the section under the driveway, I'm thinking that 12" diameter pipe will be sufficient.

Who has purchased this type of pipe? Where did you get it and roughly how much was it?

Did you have a long enough run that it needed to be seamed together?

Second question relates to this... Any one source the concrete drain pits that you see DOT use? I know Lowes have the small plastic ones....not sure if I want this type or not....

I know that Ace hardware can get you the drain pipe you want, Don't ever remember seeing a concrete vault. I would go to a place that makes concrete septic tank or grave vaults and see what they would charge to make you one.

Make sure you bed that pipe and construct a head wall and outfall in a manner that minimizes erosion at both ends...those smooth wall pipes concentrate the water and increase velocity...so discharge of the water can cause scouring and erosion back onto the downstream facility....

You might check with whomever does maintenance on your road, be it the DOT, county, township, etc., and see what is required under your road approach for ditchline drainage.
