Hello all.
I have a few issues with a natural gas line going to my garage. It starts here.
I called a local gasfitter here in Calgary Alberta Canada to get a line quoted. I measured it from the gas meter to my garage and it ended up being approximately 55 feet plus an additional 25 - 30 feet in the garage of pipe. I called to have my underground lines marked as I was told I would have to run from the meter to the garage. the lines run right along where I would run the line. what would anyone do in this case? im also looking to run the line to my deck on the way which means the line must be teed and ran an additional 15 feet off that tee. the fitter quoted the job at approximately 3200 trenching included, and if I dig the trench the job would be about 2900. this seems very over priced to me. does anyone have any ideas for me? id gladly put in the line myself and trench but I don't even know if that is allowed in Calgary. any input would help thanks
