Underground Storage

Has anyone on here ever priced out the costs of installing an underground lift for storing a car either in their garage or driveway? Something like PhantomPark or Vasari?

My attached garage won’t permit a four post lift, and I’d like to be able to get one or two more cars in there and out of the elements. Thanks in advance!

Could get messy

Some issues in my mind past the saw cutting, excavation, forming, reinforcing, and pouring concrete...

- how to make sure you don't impinge on groundwater....likely a sump pit would be required plus pumpout piping (additional saw cuts on existing slab)
- likely need 240vac wiring into the pit for powering the lift mechanism (additional saw cuts on existing slab)
- not sure how humidity is managed (dehumidifier?)
- not sure how the potential for fuel vapors in the confined space is dealt with (ventilation/airflow?)

I feel certain the technical problems are already solved but its a fairly large construction project...the OEM might have some ballpark numbers.

I'd wild guess $50k in construction costs.

I got a quote 10+ years ago and I think it was around $50k for the elevator. I suspected another $50k-$75k in building costs but never got any estimates.

I ended up buying a commercial property within a couple miles of my house, instead. It wasn't much more up front and the rental income from the office portion pays for most expenses.

It would amount to having a basement under the garage. Not overly difficult when building. After the fact though, that'll be $$$$.

This was my first thought.
