Looking to insulate my 30x40x12 pole building in South Central PA. I found a really good deal on Owen's Corning ecotouch unfaced R13 insulation. 4' wide x 75' rolls. I plan to hang this vertically on the walls, then run vapor barrier, inside girts and install OSB. What is the proper method for attaching this to the walls. Also do I just attach at the top and let it hang or attach at every girt?

Without paper vapor barrier you will likely need to staple at the top. Probably hang at every girt. Can you get R19? For your area it would be better.

I think I'd get "Perforated Insulation Pins" and use a probably 4 or so at top and a couple on lower girts. They won't crush insulation and will take some of the weight off the top.

When I hung the 8’ wide insulation blankets in my shop I got some 8” long T15 torx head screws and stuck them in 1’ apart on every other purling/girt. Figured it’d keep the insulation from drooping or falling down at least in my lifetime. It took a while lol.

I thought I'd run a screw or tack on the pins with an air stapler, but understand. Thought the pins would be easier than something with a head. But it seems we agree that more than just across top would be wise.

I second the pins, installation with a narrow crown stapler would be faster than using screws.
But I already own the stapler, so little extra expense to do it this way.

When I worked at a Shipyard I saw insulation pins spot welded to Steel Bulkheads. Sometimes they were glued onto them. Fiberglass mats were then attached to the pins. Retainers were then attached to the threaded shanks of those pins.I did see the insulation pins but don't like that they are glue on. I also was thinking of possibly getting 4-5" long nails/screws and using the large 2" diameter washers made for attaching foam board.
