Unidentified Snap-on socket--can you help!

Help! I got this odd Snap-on socket in with some other stuff, and I can't find any information on it.

The model number is S9473, it's a half inch drive, and there is a magnet inside it which looks like it is supposed to be there.

Anyone have direct knowledge or educated guesses on this? I know a lot about tools, but this has me stumped.
