Unintentional USA Tool buying?

Was starting to inventory my tools over the weekend, and noticed a confusing albeit different trend.

Most (90%) of the tools that I bought prior to being married (10-5 years ago) are USA made, including several things that I definitely expected to be made in china (Stanley 42oz plastic dead-blow?).

Quite a few of the tools I've bought since being married fall into two categories:

USA Made (5-2 years)

Made in China (this past year)

I haven't changed my shopping habits (which inlcude HD, Sears, Lowes & HF), nor brands I typically trust (CMan, Kobalt, Husky)

The end results:

Pretty much everything electronic is made somewhere Asian (Ryobi, Dewalt, Makita

Everything wrench wise has wound up USA made (Kobalt, Husky)

House style stuff has wound up made in China (pliers, hammers, pipe wrenches etc: Kobalt, Husky, Pittsburgh, Stanley)

I'm not sure if that's odd or not, but I didn't even realize that my entire 1/2" drive and 1/4" drive sets were USA made (Kobalt)

I also realized that I should add a clause to my home owners for equivalent replacement cost of my tools, because I've got way more invested than I thought I did.

Don't be surprised to find that they max out at $1200 and if you should make the mistake of telling your agent your toolbox cost more than that, they may refuse to insure you as you have "professional" tools and they don't cover such.

YMMV but my experience has been poor. Also, if you have a CCW, stay away from Erie, they canceled my policy when they discovered my CCW permit and I got the cancellation in the mail before I got a bill. They sued me for payment and it took me a while to get that resolved.

My statefarm folks have been pretty good, especially concerning electronics & jewelry. I had factored in about $2500 for my tools into my estimate when it came to the general policy coverage, but after an inventory and looking up replacement/original costs in my records... it's closer to double that, and I've barely inventoried stuff.
