I have UnionTools garden tools. I'm sure that's not what you're talking about, however.
I was unimpressed with the ones I have.
Not better or worse than most other garden tools you pick up at TSC, Sears, Lowes, etc. They were cheap and they work fine, but somehow I expect the tool head to fail before the handle, sadly.

What could the typical shovel do that was impressive?
If it goes on to last 20 years, I wouldn't notice it, and would take it for granted.
If it digs a hole, I wouldn't be impressed either.
Just one of those things where you expect flawless operation and anything less is a disappointment, unless it lasts long enough for you to forget buying it.

It wasn't the shovel it was the hoe. It didn't have an edge and it didn't compare to my father's American made one(made in 60-70s.)

UnionTools are not made with union labor. Most of their tools are made in China.

Nothing wrong with PRIVATE SECTOR union jobs either. As for gummit unions where the union can hold the taxpayer and politicians (who THEY helped get elected) hostage, different story.

If I wanted the most expensive shovel I could find with only decent quality, I'd definitely limit my search to union-made

Why would anyone want a union made tool? They cost more than other tools, they don't work as well, they only do one specific job, they can only work during certain times, and even then they only work when they want.

Guys the original question was asking for companies with union labor.
While I'm sure we could get into a very lengthy conversation about good/bad unions, especially since I'm from WI, this was not the question. And this post will be locked down if that's the road it takes.
I personally think it would be interesting to see what companies names come up.

Your avatar indicates you might be in favor of ALL unions. At one point in time I was in favor of unions as well. However, what you don't hear or read in the biased media is that nearly ALL unions are taking member's money/dues to "donate" to politicians that hand out favors to union leaders, using everyone's tax money. The average guy/gal is really the one getting hurt in all this.
Union leaders and politicians are the main people who get hurt when union members are allowed to decide for themselves whether to pay dues or not. And you won't find THAT in the biased media.

I realize that, but your avatar makes a bigger statement than anything posted here. The "clinched fist" is in fact an exact copy of a socialist symbol. Since you are in Canada, then you probably don't understand the ramifications and meaning it has for many of us here.
As far as tools, I don't really pay a lot of attention except to buy quality affordable tools. But if the unions keep pushing me, then I might start making my choices against union labels, and therefore your list might be informative.

I'm union but am 100% against public unions and agree with the Governor of WI. Look to Greece as an example of what long term public unions can do to a country. As with anything there are pros and cons with union membership. At this point we need to work on getting the jobs back here first.
Thank you. When a private employer enters into negotiations with unionized workers, there is an inherent "balance of power" that exists between the employer and the union. In a public union scenario, no such balance is in place (for what should be OBVIOUS reasons) and the situation is just not sustainable.
I don't agree with those who blindly support all union rhetoric out of hand any more than I agree with those who dismiss all union activity as a bad thing.

I agree with this. The biggest statement that can be sent to public unions that are out of control is to move and create ghost towns. No tax base means no pay! Good day sir!
