The 974's are my favorite all-around vise.
Here is my third Union-Manufactured 974B as acquired a few days back:
Here it is after reassembly. Everything was stripped down, run thru the electrolysis vat, then hit with a brush cup. Next it went thru the parts washer - then she was lubed and reassembled. I don't paint the 974's, I like them bare with a light coat of oil to keep em from flash rusting. I managed to save the original foil Parker decal, so I will affix it back in its spot tommorrow.
