Bought this for 75 notes off a guy in manchester, its 3 phase but will be running on an inverter

Suspect he means a VFD, good choice, will give variable speed. Looks like a Morse taper quill, a good thing. Looks like it has a broken handle, shouldn't be too bad to fix.

Hi yes a VFD known as inverter from three phase to 240v single phase, yeh a few little things need working on but thats what I do for a living so parts source/making is easy. Yes its got a morse taper and is about six feet in height.

Ive been trying to find out the history of them but its vary scarce, I have heard they may of Boxford origin, anyone know anything?

Never seen much info regarding owt Union. They've been turning out pillar drills for years, and they obviously do the grinding gear, but there seems to be little useful info on their stuff which I can find. Good gear though.
