OK, so sometimes when I'm bored I daydream about moving back to Fairbanks, Alaska and I surf real estate listings. I found a home for sale with this unique detatched shop/workshop:

I like the idea. I would like to build an apartment for my sons out of the shipping containers one day. Two 8 X 30 set side by side. Add trusses and hardy board on the outside and you have a 480 sq feet apartment for a minimal cost.

I have actually thought for years, that a shop / garage made with two shipping containers as side walls would be a great idea. It is neat to actually seewhat one would look like. Lots of extra storage, certainly strong enough.
Now I want to build one even more. Great pictures. Thanks. :)

I saw a show on hgtv or diy about a family who made a house out of 8 or 10 shipping containers. It was very contemporary.

It turned out sweet. Very creative and unique.

Back home I have seen several shops made with three shipping containers. They use the third one for the back wall and cut doors and windows into them.
