Unistrut or wood?

Trying to decide which would be stronger with a lesser "unloaded" weight. Looking to add sliding doors, and believe I could add them to the unistrut as others have with the wood shelving. Thoughts, ideas, etc.?

A 10' 12 gauge 1 5/8" stick will support 340 lbs uniform load.
Although most applications don't span that much with out extra support.

That chart is helpful for the unistrut, but we still don't have numbers for wood. How heavy is it spanning a 14' section, etc.
