Universal Crankshaft Pulley Holder Tool

Any recommendations for a "UNIVERSAL" crankshaft pulley tool?

Will mainly be using it on BMW, VW, and Audi.

Would this work?

I use this. I'm not a pro, just wrench on the weekends. The strap can be replaced.

BTW, the tool you show is not for a crankshaft pulley. The tool shown is a universal tool for water pump pulleys and the like.

Most VW and Audi cars you really don't need a tool, 19mm or 24mm 12pt hex bolt for crankshaft timing gears and allen head bolts for crankshaft serpentine pulleys...Some VR6's being an exception. Their toothed and serp pullies are not on there that tight and can be broken loose without a lock type tool, strap wrenches help a ton.

I always just put em in gear and have someone step on the brakes to pop em loose.. either that, or wedge a pry bar between a bolt and the teeth on the flywheel

That is camshaft not a crankshaft pulley holder. I am not aware there is a universal crankshaft pulley holder.

I don't like the strap because all the torque will go through the crankshaft pulley rubber damper which can damage it. Honda crankshaft bolt is extremely extremely tight.

I just did a fjz80 crank bolt a d its torqued to 300+ from the factory. I put a socket on the flex plate and went to town

Honda has a special tool for theirs so you shouldn't need a strap wrench.
