Can someone date this 1/2 inch universal? There are no markings on it. Thanks.

Well, it looks 'old'.! That design that was in the early wood box socket sets with pressed steel sockets. Mossberg, that sort of thing so maybe around the 1920's but not the earliest because it has detent balls not flat spring clips to retain the socket and drive end.

Looks like the one in this early Packer set:

Unknown Old Socket Set

Old means older than I am. There are no manufacturer's marks on any of these parts. The label is about gone, but I believe I read in part Packer Axxxx Special Chicago USA Any ideas as to the maker?
