This set was my Dad's backup socket set to his craftsmans that lived in the top of his roll away. I don't recall where he acquired them, although the stamp below the brand on one of the 2 deep sockets in the case may have been a clue, as he was a Vietnam era navy Vet. Never recall it having a ratchet, he just used with one of his craftsman pear head rachets if he ever needed two of the same size sockets at the same time for some reason. He believed in having multiple backups, which he always blamed on flying in planes maintained by the military.
I broke the breaker bar removing a Honda wheel hub nut on one of the relatively rare occasions I needed to drag out something to use with a cheater pipe, and have been meaning to straighten and re heat treat the end and fab a new pivot pin for way longer than I want to admit. I've always suspected it was original with the sockets, and that the T slider handle probably got added along with the 2 New Britain deep sockets, (the rest of which I've never ran across). The Plumb wobble is also an obvious outlier that got added at some point.
I would just like to find out who the manufacturer on the sockets was, and about when. also, opinions on if the box is original, which seems somewhat dubious because allowing for the missing 3/4 socket, there are 4 more that won't fit into the divider? Any other info that might be available will be most appreciated.
