Some companies offer a Schraeder valve option for air couplers.
Some of the larger commercial aircrraft use the larger tire valves.

Can be used for absolutely anything. I have one on my drywall texture gun to shutting off the air instead of having to dis connect the hose all the time.

Could be hydraulic fittings. Those will have a shutoff on both sides.

They are definitely for air.

Could also be for engine compression testers.

I have owned several types of compression testers, these don't look like they would work with any of mine.

These have schrader valves same as a tire or efi fuel rail port. But I can't think of a use, hence the question.
Aircraft tires...I'll look next time I'm at the local airport.

The valve I mentioned before is a schrader valve, not an on/off valve.

Thanks for the input.

Currently I'm using one for seating tire beads after manually mounting my tires on rims. I removed the valve from the fitting so there is more airflow. It works but not great, so I doubt that is the intended use. And I just picked up a fitting meant for bead seating...at least it looks like it will work really well. It has little "jaws" that retract when you remove the fitting from the tire stem, and this fitting is screwed directly to the hose - no coupler.

Look like PCL Hi Flow fittings to me!

PCL is the British equivalent of Schraeder, and their regular fittings are very common.

The Hi Flow is a newer fitting, but getting quite common in industrial applications!

I had one on my air bubble, was included with it, so that when I disconnected it the pressure wasn’t all lost and no manual valves were necessary. Seals went bad and have replaced with a ball valve, but would love to have more if I could figure out where to purchase them.

I use one to fill my air bubble. Purchased for the purpose.

What's an air bubble?

And where did you buy the fitting?

"Air bubble" = portable air tank. I bought the fitting from a pneumatics equipment supplier in Denver during a former life as a machine designer.

Not saying that is what they are, but I have a hooka rig that uses a different kind of hydraulic fitting on them and they are definitely being used for air not hydro...

Took me forever to figure out what they were so I could order spares.

Interesting, I've never seen a "hooka rig", what color is it and and how many "hooka's" does it hold. :pimpflash:pimpflash
