I took a chance on this compressor today at the local Restore for $7. The motor works and the pulley moves freely on the pump. So far, I've been unable to find a tag or label on the pump, only a Packard Electric Corporation motor tag on the 1/3 HP motor. The motor looks like its missing the band around it. I scoured the internet but could not locate an exact match though I did find matching pulleys on an old Ingersoll-Rand and Speedaire pumps similar in size to this one. The only other clue is that it appears to be painted dark green. This is all mounted to a piece of 3/8" steel plate. I thought I'd throw this up here and see if anyone might be able to identify it.

Brad

That's a bit different. Can't say I've ever seen an in-line 4-cylinder compressor. Since it's obviously single stage, it may have come from a refrigerant system and been repurposed.

I think CH made/makes a 4cyl single stage but it was not an inline. COOL!!

Hi Brad. Did you ever find information on this?
I just picked up one on craigslist that appears more complete.

Clearly it's a hand-portable air-compressor.
But, I can't find any clear markings of manufacturer or date.
What I can see so far:
- 4 cylinder, single stage, splash oil lube
- Cast iron compressor and outlet diffuser(?)
- Walker-Turner motor (from dirt accumulation, possibly original)
- Well balanced hand-carry handle
- Stand-alone, no mounting or ports for a larger tank
- Appears to be a retail unit (ie. not a home rigged contraption)
- About the same overall size as the compressor/motor assembly
on my old Sears 6-gal (small) compressor unit.
(camera perspective in above pics makes it look bigger, but it's not.)

Bingo. Thanks Mac. I searched, but had not come across that other thread.
I wish the tags were still on mine. It would have helped.
