Once again the forum members came to the rescue. My grandson and I could not find any information. Another interesting do dad. The local pawn shop had 2 of these for a buck and a half each. Guess I will buy them and give them a try then store them with my "never will use that tool bin" as my wife call it.

From what I gather reading about these they actually work fairly well. Just one of those things that never caught on.

I have always blunted the nail tip ( tap the tip with a hammer with the head of the nail on something solid) I think that would be faster than this gizmo. but it is neat .
With brad nails & pin nailers, splitting trim or predrilling hardwood to nail into is almost a thing of the past

Another trick is to make sure the "spear point" of the trim nail cuts across the grain--especially near the end of a board. Works with a brad nailer, too! Keep the nailer handle parallel to the piece of wood and no splits, as the brads have "chisel" points that are perpendicular to the handle of the nailer.
