Howdy!
This is my first post here at Garage journal, however I’ve been enjoying the forums quite some time (without actually creating my own account).
Thank you for taking a moment to look at my post, I was hoping someone could help me identify this socket set?
A while back, I was given a large quantity of tools and I chose this because I thought they were Snap-On impact sockets. They are 1/4” drive and 3/8” drive. The TOP of the socket appears to be completely circular with no way of gripping anything… inscribed on each socket is “No. 1 USA Pat. Pend, No. 2 USA Pat. Pend…” etc, all the way up to 8.
Unfortunately there is not patent number and no markings on the socket rail.
My only guess is that these are specialty tools from the 80s but for what? The individual who owned these tools was a master mechanic who specialized in electric vehicle conception, and hybrid vehicles from 1977-1990s. Needless to say, his workshop was jam-packed with everything from machinist tools to racing jacks.
Anyways… I look forward to reading your replies. Thanks
