Unknown No-Name Non-Magnetic Puller

What do you make of this and it’s application?

Inside the aluminium body is a spring loaded plunger.

The rest is stainless steel except for the steel roll pins.

The square shaft is 1/2” to the top but you cannot put a socket on it as a roll pin keeps the sliding action limited.

There may have been another part attached to the neck of the alloy body. TIA

I have one which I think was used for plumbing, which looks similar based on the cone adjuster. (front edge of tailgate)

Wonder if your is made for pulling out bathtub drains. Tighten down, grab and twist.
