Unknown older Snap On case

There is no such thing as a free lunch. I was driving down the road to an appointment at work when I saw a pile of stuff next to the road that said "free" on the sign next to it. I caught a glint of red and figured I had better stop. Imagine my surprise when I saw this case. Sadly, it was empty.

I have no idea what vintage it is or if it's of much use to anyone other than as a novelty. It's about 18 inches long and 6 wide by 1 deep or so. I'm guessing it was a speeder and extension set. Whatcha think? a case for nuts and bolts now?

It should be stamped model and date. Look very close on the back. 60's vintage.

I'm not complaining it's empty , per se. It would be easy to keep set aside if it were just me, but the boss lady has input due to the fact we live in a 2 bedroom condo w/no garage. I can only keep so much stuff. Unless of course I can justify it being useful.
