Unknown plier markings

I found a few needles nose pliers today with a bunch of wire gauge high speed drills and a few other very small machinists items.

Is anyone familiar with the markings inside the handle on these? To me it looks like a paw with claws and a monogram with a "W" and two "S's". They are US made (See Thumbnail 2). See Thumbnail 1 for entire plier.

Also, on a pair of Klein pliers (See Thumbnail 4 & 5), there is also a marking I am not familiar with. A delta or triangle symbol, like so... /\ ...followed by the date code ("ENN"), or, 4th quarter, 1966. Anybody seen the delta before or know what it signifies?

The SS in the WSS seems to me that its intention would be self-evident to buyer, so it's either the initials of the company name, OR may be a strong possibility that it stands for Stainless Steel. The tool looks like it might be of stainless steel. Could be that the company was known for stainless steel tools, so the SS might then be both a steel designation AND initials representing the company name. The mark might be better known in an industry unrelated to mechanical work like dentistry or jewelry. Anyway, these are just a few thoughts that might open up possible avenues for further research.

Well heck. Another one that asks the same question. Thanks to MrEd for resurrecting this thread. I found these pliers a few months back, and gave up trying to figure out who WSS or SSW or....... was. These are Ainsworth patent hole punch pliers. with the WSS stamped into both sides of the pivot area.

<Dang, MAD beat me to it.> I see the Ainsworth punch listed with lot of dental tools, so that might be a path to dig down.

And segregating out results to exclude "War Savings Stamps" gets ugly

OK, its not WSS, its SSW. SS White Dental Manufacturing Company. Following up on MAD's ebay link, one had a link to patent info

A little brute force searching, #780 out of 904 patents issued that day.

Leads us to

Logo on this page, with established 1844

And SS stands for Samuel Stockton

Just to add a little bit of nightmare to this thread, here is an 1867 Catalog of Dental Tools, Furniture, and Materials from SS White Dental Manufacturing. @Mark Stansbury maybe link to this one?

Here is 1876

And if that doesn't get you, maybe these will. A few other catalogs in there, but a bit above my buy and donate to ITCL library.

So much stuff to make your skin crawl once you know the right name.

Edit: here is another copy of 1876, readable this time
