Posted this on garage sale thread. It was in a pail of various hardware I got for 5 dollars. No markings on except for #70. Seems to work fine, just needs a chuck to hold the tap. I looked on Google can't find anything resembling it. Figured if anyone would know anything about it this would be the place to ask. 20210424_135254.jpg20210424_135415.jpg

Could it be a one-off tool somebody made for a special need at their job? Has that homemade look to it. :dunno:

I doubt that it is home made. The Morse taper looks pretty standard.
If a machinist made that tool from scratch I’d be extremely impressed.
The internals of a tapping head are not simple. :bowdown:
