Does anybody know what this is and what it's used for? It has a cord that plugs into the top on the back side.

Plug it in and see what happens!

A few more questions though...
1. What is on the base? It looks like wood, marble, copper?
2. Is the handle covered in cork?

I'm with red

Plug it in.

I don't see any motors so not exactly sure what a plug is doing on it

Looks like some kind of press

I'm going to go with some type of heated press. I wouldn't plug it in unless you know where it goes and what it does.

If you do plug it in do so on a gfci outlet. If something goes wrong it probably won't kill you then.

Thanks for the ideas. My guess was for tire patches as well. My grandpa ran a Sinclair station in the 60s with a tire bay.

This postcard was from before it changed over to Sinclair. I believe it was a marathon station first.

Did you find the die set mentioned in the above post? It would still be useful today with all the accessories.

Neat old station. I like how they set the old visible pumps out front and the new calculator pumps under the roof line.
