Unknown Tools, Perhaps Railroad?

On another forum, a member is asking if anyone recognizes a couple of tools that appear to be scrapers of some sort. One is 15-3/4" long, and the other 12". Both are stamped with worn off lettering, but he can see "RR" at the end.

No one has been able to identify them yet. Perhaps someone here knows?

Look like tools for pulling cores at a foundry (sand puller?) (I can't find a fresh image with that name to back up that guess, working on it. ) I've seen them on various for sale posts.

I have no idea how they are used, but someone here might.
