Unloading Maxjax Question

My Maxjax should arrive next week and I'm thinking about the easiest way to get it unloaded from the truck. It's coming direct to my house via Conway Freight. I know I could pay a liftgate fee, but I'd rather get something to use again and have been waiting for an excuse to get one of these:

Would this work you think? Or should I just pick up a used pallet jack on CL?

That HF cart doesn't look tall enough to me... Maybe in the bed of a pickup truck.

I don't think a pallet jack would be tall enough either.

Pay the liftgate fee unless you have a forklift.

You'll still need lift gate service to get it down to the cart. A real "use again" device would be a trailer and doing the pickup at the yard. ;)

The alternative is 1) a rented forklift 2) take it apart in the truck and unload the pieces. You'll need two healthy people for the columns. Danmar says they weigh about 300 lbs each. total weight 800+ lbs.

go to the dock and pick it up yourself. unless you pay a liftgate fee you will have a 4 ft drop from the floor of the trailer to the ground

I had mine dropped in the back of my truck at the terminal. Me and a buddy unloadeded it piece by piece. Don't hit your head on the garage door like I did standing in the back of the truck.

I would prefer to get it at the terminal as that would be easiest, however they aren't giving me the option. When I ordered I asked if I could do that and the answer was no, it comes to the house. I'll ask again when Conway calls to set up delivery.

I bought my lift 2 years ago. I vaguely remember having to tell Conway that it was terminal pickup. I think they call you when it comes in and then you tell them lift gate or terminal. As Long as you aren't paying for the lift service at the time of order don't worry about it, call the shipping office and tell them to Hang on to it. When you go, you will have to have certain paperwork. And watch out! Trucks are zooming around that place !!

I did the lift gate option when I bought mine. Best money I ever spent on shipping.
The driver even helped us move it into the garage using his pallet ******** the truck. Not sure if he was supposed to do that, but he didn't hesitate at all to help.
