Hi guys,

I've been lurking around here for quite a while and finally joined to see pics of the Blood Shed. Anyway, I was trolling E-bay a while ago and thought some of you vise aficianados might enjoy this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHARLES-PAR...911?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ecddfadc7

I've never seen or heard of one of these. If I had the extra cash right now I would probably buy it myself. Looks like a handy tool.

save your money for one you can actually mount to your bench. that one doesn't have any way to mount that i can see. all of those older anvil type vises are really light to medium duty and i see more broken ones than good ones.

a good old US vise and a piece of 12 inch long RR track will do a much better job for you.

welcome to the Journal and glad you joined to share what you know and maybe learn a bit from the guys that really know their stuff. i'm still a sort of a rookie and usually learn something everyday and i'm going on 60 in about a year.

Sure it's not your listing?

From the ebay seller's info:

...WE LIVE IN A VERY SMALL TOWN...

TEXAS BUYER'S WILL BE CHARGED 8.25 TAX

Wikipedia: the community (Voca, Texas) had an estimated population of 56 in 2000

I think so.

Gordon to Voca looks to be 2 hrs and change. As well, its population is under 500. So, this may not be spam.

Yeah, I would agree - it's quite easy to alter eBay's search parameters to show you stuff within, say, 150-200 miles of you.

That's probably what the OP did.

OP: Welcome to the forum - hope you stick around!

Looks like 2 holes are there to mount it. I wonder if the 3rd hole broke off.

it doesn't look that big so probably a USPS flat rate box almost anywhere in the US for about $12.

anybody notice the OP hasn't commented since he posted? i know he's a new member so wonder if that is the reason or if he really was just posting to push his old vise?
