Sorry if there is already a thread on garage doors but if so I couldn't find it. Maybe this can be a repository for novel ideas about doors. I'm inspired by the attached; a guy building a Mustang airplane replica in his garage built his door out of hydraulic hanger door hardware.

Whoah! That's awesome. I'll be watching to see what shows up here. I need to replace my garage door. I'll probably go boring but who knows what may end up getting posted.

Like the idea of that. Would be nice to open that, sit under and watch the rain.
Don't get much rain here so I enjoy it when I can.

I don't know, but maybe out of that walk in door you can see on the adjoining wall?

Reverse mounted door with fold in rails.

Cool - but I'm not sure why it was done?
Probably looks weird closed since one door is smooth panel (inside showing) and one door is raised panel.
If the roof had been extended out it could be mounted permanently even with an opener.

Not dun yet, but I'm building a 40' x 12' folding door made up of five 4' panels on each side and will move on barn door rollers and overhead track. It's that size so I can move my planes from the hanger to the shop without going outside.

Just a thought.
