I have an unusual Crescent Crestoloy Adjustable Wrench ( see picture) that I am looking for information on. The following is what I know:
Crescent Tool Co.
12" Adjustable Wrench
Markings (MADE IN USA PAT. PEND.)
Jamestown N.Y.
Date Code ? (K)

The unusual part is the section under the size adjust screw?

So is the switch used to release the threads on the thumb screw to allow quick adjustment, or does it lock the thumb screw so it won’t work loose?

I fiddled with it a bit and it locks the adjustment screw and then releases it when you back off the slide switch back from the adjustment screw. Last issue does anyone know what this type of Adjustable Wrench is ?
