Picked these up last weekend at a garage sale and have never seen any quite like them. They may even be homemade. If anyone has ever seen them or knows who made them please let me know. They are adjusted with a 1-1/4inch acme screw and the large adjustment wheel. I added the 4 strips of steel to the bottom of the legs just to add a bit more safety to them even though they already are very heavy. If you've seen them before let me know, maybe I'm just not old enough to have seen these before (ha,ha). I should have taken some before pictures because they were covered in cobwebs, rusty, and painted pink.

Ive seen and used them in the past. Its been a long time. As long as you dont exceed the load rating there shouldnt be a problem. Great for adjustment on height.

To me they kinda look like jack stand that you use for leveling pull behind campers.

I've made a few similar. They sell the acme thread along with cast iron spinner nut as a kit for pipe welders. You can also get them in V head, roller head, etc without the body of the stand.. but I've never seen one with adjustors like that, pretty nice if you ask me. The rating for the 1.375" (iirc) acme pipe jacks I have are 2,500lb, and they've held twice that (without adjusting). They make some 3-ton versions as well, and use the same acme thread!
