Unusual Knife ID, Please

Just wondering what the purpose of this knife was for. Ridgely made a lot of painter and wallpapering tools didn't they?

Thanks, that looks to be about right to me and it only took about 5 minutes! I must say, its hard to imagine the process in using this as you describe; "separating notepads and signature sheets"... I don't follow, Brother.

In a vintage Hyde catalog, they call I a paper hanger’s knife. I assume for cutting wallpaper. I have one with my leather tools.

Very cool link. Thanks for that. Turns out that along with my knife came a few Hyde green handle knives with a square tip. So now, well I guess it's the paper hanger's knife.

I have a stash of various Hyde knives. Once you get them sharp, they are wicked users. Square tip, long square tip, pointy, I grab them all.
