Hey folks,

Cruising through Craigslist this morning and saw this 'vintage' Milwaukee jack.

http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/tls/4801124728.html

I see a lot of images on the web, but none of it in use.
I'll assume this is a bumper jack ? I can kinda remember when a bumper
was a lift-point.
It might also be handy for installing big tire/wheel combos.

Anybody use one recently ?
Steve

It most certainly is a bumper jack. There were saddles that clipped on the outboard tubes and mated to the bumper to prevent bending. The jack also had a saftey that could be manually engaged to support the weight of the vehicle. Two jacks were used often to lift both ends of a car for brakes ,tires , etc. Old school for those of us that worked on cars that had chrome steel bumpers.

Those jacks are still made their Milwaukee jack if you go to their website
you can see new ones. I have one that was a bumper jack we used it under
the lifts like a trans.jack.

Gonna agree, its a bumper jack. the wheels would make it hard to get under a set of duals to get a truck tire off..

That said. I have an older air lift bumper jack that gets use from time to time as a door hoist whenever I need to pull a door by myself.
