I epoxied my floor about two years ago and used Epoxy Coat brand. Turned out nice, but when it gets hot and humid my garage has a very distinct smell. It's hard to describe, but it's got a slight gasoline component to the smell but only sweeter. I don't store any chemicals or paints or gasoline in this garage. It started after I epoxied the floor. It's getting a little stronger, but that may be from the extremely hot summer here in the DC area.

Anyone else experience this with their floor?

I saw this post and immediately called the chemist. He is telling me that the cured epoxy will not take on any smells after it is cured. It is a solid and they seem to think it may be something else from the building, attic or outside the building. Let me know if you can pinpoint this or find out anything else on this.

Whenever it gets really hot and humid and I am working hard in the garage, I too get this very annoying odor that seems to rise up from the floor area. Upon further investigation it turns out it was just ***. I didn't know who to call, so I immediatly opened another beer and continued working......

Totally useless comment, but REALLY, REALLY made me laugh.
