I spotted this weird looking vice on marketplace, can any of the vice experts on here explain what it’s various bits are for? Looks like it has an anvil point, but I have no idea what the tube out the side and the bolt on the other side are for. It’s about $40, I’m kinda tempted.

Looks like the tube might be for threading stuff, has a die in it for threading round stock like bolts. As for the bolt on the other end, it might've had another piece that would bolt on over that side of the tube for bigger dies or something.

Overall if you need a vice anyways might as well get one with some mysterious features you probably won't ever use if it's a price you're happy paying.

As Arte Johnson used to say...."very interesting".

If it doesn't have china or india stamped on it, I would give the $40.

I'm wondering what the screws are for on the side of the vise.....and the beveled circle on the bottom of the movable jaw.

If you're talking about what looks like a pulley on the bottom of the arm it's probably for bending pipe/rods cleanly. Get perfect curves instead of hard 90° bends that might cause issue.

i had one its a vice for pipe threading its called a warsop vice ( i think in the uk) its missing a lot of attachments. The column has a die on it for threading pipe and should have a handle on the opposite end for turning. A small secondary vice should fit to the side for holding the pipe. It should also have some v jaws for pipe holding. It was a nice vice for a while but i have upgraded to a dohm vice which i like more. Hope that helps
