Unusual Walden ratchets

I'm certain these have a special purpose in life, but have no idea what that is. They are roughly the same size as the standard 1/4" ratchets. Found at flea market for $2/ea.

I have a Duro-Chrome 1/4 female ratchet very similar. I should pester four.cycle about what donor ratchet (s) could be used to convert it to a standard 1/4 drive. At 6.25" mine is kinda long for a 1/4 rat, and I don't have any long 1/4 rats...hmm...

Walden was the Snap-On of the early 1900's....kind of an insult to Walden but no other comparison quite fits.

Look up Utica gas pliers...another beautiful tool from back when. Better for screws and stripped nuts than anything made today.
I'll post the part number when I get to the house later

^ all kinds of outfits made gas pliers. never occurred to me to use them for rounded-off nuts, but yeah, they'd definitely grab ahold of something!
