Seemingly good deals (but I don’t monitor pricing so I’m not sure how low these prices get).

Is there a scan tool anyone would recommend for at home use?

I have always had access to nice equipment at whatever shop I work at but now work for a fleet. If I’m at home it’d be nice to have a capable scan tool, although side work is next to non existent because I’m too busy.

Are any of these autel’s on sale capable of activating fans, forcing evaporate leak tests, other useful functions, etc? Monitoring cylinder contribution / misfires? Capable of utilizing for electric parking brake service mode so I don’t have to go a round about way to service calipers with electric parking brakes?

I see they just about all say engine/trans/abs/airbag capable but it’d hard to tell exactly what capabilities they have. It wasn’t even clear on autel site unless I’m missing something.

Im not an expert on Autel, but several of those are the exact same thing as one another with different accessories. Some include the j box for ecu programing, while others dont. Also some include the bluetooth obd adaptor, while the other version of the exact one doesn't. The cable has to be ran from the tablet to the obd port. Between the different models, some of hardware differences are the processors, screen size and resolution, and memory storage along with the android os version. This is just from general browsing of them on Amazon. Im assuming that any of them that state bidirectional control should allow you the functions you asked about, but the only one i have actual experience with is the maxisys elite.

My autel 906 can do all of that. $879 is a damn good deal. Amazon is not an "authorized" seller FWIW.

According to Autel only the MaxiSys line is problematic through Amazon. You can update it as normal but they supposedly wont give you the warranty refresh on the actual scan tool that the total care program updates supplies.

Pretty sure you're okay getting a MaxiPro or MaxiDiag or any of the cheaper units, just make sure its either fulfilled by Autel direct, a legitimate dealer, or Amazon themselves and not a fly by night seller.

Wow those are some good prices. I wish the basic MK808 was bluetooth, I cant stand using the cords anymore. Looks like the MK808TS is but that's a tad more than I want to spend at the moment
