Update SO ratchets???

Good morning! Is it possible to update a pre dual 80 sealed head ratchet like an F936 to dual 80 with a rkrf80 service kit?

Nope. Not as far as I know.... they are different designs. Even the head shapes are quite different.

AFAIK the gears are different; the guts sizes are totally different and will not fit! If they did fit a bazillion people would be doing it and we would have threads on here showing how to do it!!!

Even if this would theoretically work..... for all the time and effort involved, and when you consider the cost of all the parts, it may just make more sense in the long run to buy some 80 series ratchets and keep your 936s....

If you have 2 F936's then you have 72 teeth, that is close!! lol

Right, I see the heads are getting bigger and bigger. Thats why I keep my old 3/8 I bought in the 70's. Nice tiny head, socket release for old fingers but real clunky teeth.

Yeah... with that logic, you should see some of the ratchets that I have!

If you have an old flex head/handle, you may be able to swap the whole head, since the gears aren't interchangeable. Fedwrench did this successfully
