So I busted my *** last month and needed some RR I spent the last two afternoons/Evenings Detailing three of our cars. All three cars received interior detail, Exterior wash, engine steam cleaning and the 996 got a coat of Rejex. I just finished the 996 and it looks HOT! I found a few areas that could really use the Clay bar so I will tackle that job next weekend.

Here is my new Baby in the Porsche Club House...

Very nice, I dig the Gulf sign.

I take it that the license plate is a reference to too many saying por-sh and not por-shuh?

I am counting the days until I build my new house with a spancrete garage. Your exposed brick is absolutely gorgeous, and I fully plan on implementing that look, however with 1/2" thick brick plating in my basement set up as well. What you're garage looks like is what an old loft type building would be like if it were turned into a garage. Stunning! :pimpflash

Could you show a bit more on the grass outside? It looks like you have blocks down there with grass growing inbetween or something? How does that mow up and can/do you drive on it?

Thanks guys! It has been a blast building and designing it.

2SYLBLS yes you are correct Por-sha I had it on my previous 996.

Yes they are grass stone usually used on retaining slopes of a small hill. We laid then flat and plugged 3000+ 5"x5" peices of sod. It looks really cool. The landscaping guy mowes over it and also uses a wee wacker. I will take some pics for you.

Couldn't you just put dirt in there and plant grass seed? In my new garage I'll have a driveway going down the side of the house to a back basement garage door, I was thinking of putting these in up front to break up the "sea of concrete" I'll already have on my front three stalls of driveway. I'm just not sure how to do it. Do you recall what you paid per brick and it's size?

I paid to have the pavers and "Grass stone" laid. I negotiated the whole package. The hardest part is prepping the foundation. We could have filled the holes with dirt and planted seeds but that would have been too easy. I did it to surprise the other half. She was at work and her mom and husband were in town so we bought 20 rolls of sod and got to work. We finished half of the work by the time she got home. I started by pouring top soil over the stone and brushed the soil into the holes with a shop broom. We compacted the dirt when we pushed the sod squares into the holes. Cutting the sod was easy with a large bread knife. The area with the grass stone extends along the side of the garage in a garden like setting. I think it came out really good. We are still waiting on our Iron fence and gate which will go between the wood posts you see in the photo. I did not get a good photo of the side of the garage but there is a half moon shape path way along the side of the garage with planter boxes and the grass stone continuing out to the back fence/gate that leads to the alley.

NICE!!!

What type of frames did you use for all the nice porshce posters. I have several ones I would like to put up but tis seems that the frames are more expensive than most of the posters I have........

What did you use on the driveway? The stone looks great. Does not look like you have any weeds growing up b/e the stones. I am getting ready to do mine here in Pennsylvania and I love the way your's looks.

Frames are expensive I took Michael's up on their 70% off sale a while back. $40-90 depending the size frame the large frames are HUGE. Preservation mounting and no-fade glass.

The drive way 75' X11' is layed pavers Pavestone in the manufacturer. They are a tumbled old world look they comliment the 75 y/o house. The grass stone is intended for hillsides but we got creative and used them in the fountain/courtyard. Next week they install an Iron fence and gate between the garage and the house. It will seperate the spaces giving the area purpose. Pavers run anywhere from $9-18/sqft These were the prices I collected in the denver area. One thing I will say about Pavers is that it is a one shot deal. You won't have to deal with cracking cement. Some of the pavers may lift but they can be repaired easily. Also they use a very dense mesh fabric at the base so weeds are not going come up through the pavers. The installation process is elaborate, personally I think it is worth every penny.

Damn, Sandoval --

-- -- let's see here: 75 x 11 feet of driveway is 825 square feet. Using the average of price/sq ft you quoted that's $11,500. And the quality of your pavers look to be . . . ah . . . above averge (of course, so is your garage, ride and yard).

Nice. Real nice. (he said with *just* a hint of envy in his voice).
I may just have to take a ride up to see your Garage Mahal.
