If you aren't too concerned w/ having every socket matching brands, just keep an eye on the classifieds, or give me a list, i have quite a few quality brand single sockets. They aren't really worth selling as singles, so they are just laying in a drawer right now. I could put together a good set of mismatched brands.

i do prefer to have matchin sockets but it's not like i need 100% one brand. just like for example i want my 3/8" drive shallow sockets all the same brand and my 1/2" drive deep sockets all the same brand. but the brands of the 3/8 and 1/2 can be different. I'm kind of weird like that.

I have to agree with the rest of the guys here about where you are, and where you're heading . . .

It's obvious that you take pride in your tools, and keep them clean, as I am sure this translates to most things you do (besides your room) :lol_hitti

That is the hall mark of things to come in work, and in life . . . Take care of your tools and they will take care of you when in need!

Looks like you have some decent tools in all brands . . . At 15 its a lot harder to follow the rules of *Buy It Once & Buy It Right* when money doesn't fall out of the sky like it does for others here in this forum . . .

But, for sure when you see sales, garage sales, auctions, and classified listings here or close to home jump on them to fill in those missing pieces!

My first set of tools was from one maker, my second set was whole combination of tool makers, 3rd was just two of the major tool makers, now this new one is just the one . . .

No matter where you're heading in the tool department always ensure you follow safety first! If anything seems worn, broken, or not quite right have it serviced or replaced.

It only takes that one time when you need a tool and it either explodes, breaks, or rounds out a nut and then you're right fucked!

So always keep that in mind . . . For the sake of saying eye protection, hearing, and hand protection should be worn at all times. Even more so when you're using any type of chemical doesn't matter what it is, just wear gloves etc . . .

All the best, and update us all when your collection gets bigger! Lastly make sure you're taking a lot of pictures to give to your parents for insurance purposes!

Best . . .

You're up to a great start. Especially for being 15! Obviously you take good care of your tools and take pride in them. Great qualities to have in life. keep up the good work, and keep posting when you get new stuff!

When I was 14 I was thrilled to get a gift of a SK 3/8 ratchet set and a gray Craftsman portable box (single tray). I still have them both. Probably the oldest things I own other than photos and such. I got them for working on my motorcycle, a Honda CR250 motocrosser (the original one). I don't know what was more exciting, the first time riding that bike or the first time for ***. I wish I still had the bike. I don't wish to ride that girl again.

At that age I wasn't even working on anything because my Dad didn't. I was probably in my mid 20's before I had a set like that. But remember - they have a purpose. Don't just collect - learn to use all of them. In the right hands, they can be the most powerful things you can imagine

pretty decent selection. you have some tools there that I don't even at twice your age. lol
I'm not a big "brand matters" type of guy. I need a tool, it needs to do the job. I have some complete socket sets, but I've bought misc brands to fill gaps that I needed. I've had name brand great quality stuff that failed and I've had cheapo from china stuff that has lasted me more than a decade.

what brand are the sockets you are missing? like has been said earlier, there are many here ,myself included, who could thin out the "for sale/trade bucket" in helping you keep your set complete. And as someone else said,I'm nearing forty, and I'm dreaming of a tool box of that size(currently using a 4drawer hf service cart)

I had a set of the prybars, for the price they are ok,I bought a 3 pc set of craftsman pry bars here from blacknwhitepit, and gave the hf ones away to a friend, the craftsmasn are quite a bit thicker and have much nicer handles. I think I've seen many negative reviews around on their tap/die sets.

I've never seen one,and cant really look at one in person. but i dont know if i can drop $40 for a small craftsman set thats made in china( or so i've heard on here), Vs $20 or less for a made in china harbor freight one.

How do you like the hf pry bars? I'm thinking of ordering some stuff from them sometime. ( tap and die set, prybars, rivet gun)

i've tried prying tons of things with it, even standed on the long 24" one and they haven't bent or snapped at all. i'm pretty surprised by the quality of them

Run from the tap and dies set they **** don't know about the rivet gun but the prybars are hit or miss i already bent the to longer ones the short ones i never use and the meduim one seems oddly sized

i broke the tap and die first time i uses is the tap started coming apart before it made any threads i saw shavings the pulled out a now almost flat tap

vewry poorly made out of light alloy

i'd stay away from the tap and die set too,
ive got a couple HF prybars in the garage, they are marginal at best. they seem to bend easily
to me a prybar shouldnt have a handle on it anyway.
ive bent my good OTC bars more than once, and have a tanker bar that looks like a bananna :lol_hitti

then again i could probably destroy an anvil with a rubber mallet if i tried hard enough.

thers many thing i dont bother to have in the garage, my service truck sits in the driveway.....
