Hello to everybody,
Need your advice. I'm planning to upgrade my air compressor. I have Duracraft air compressor built in 1991 and its time to change the motor. I am not very strong in that area. My friend told me to get a motor with the following specs -
Enclosure: TEFC
Phase: 3
Hz: 60
Frame: 56C
Have looked at Baldors....
what do you think of this brand ? what are the alternatives? Thanks!

Sounds to me like you need a single phase motor. It's uncommon to see 3 phase motor in residential, assuming.

Also consider RPM and HP.

Depending on the specs on the compressor, it may be better to junk the whole compressor if the motor has failed, and go with a bigger, better compressor.

Unless you are using this in a business, you almost are sure to NOT have three phase, not sure why someone would recommend it.

You really need to tell us more about your compressor, and your air tools and usage before anyone can suggest what to do.

You will probably need compressor duty or farm duty would work too. Is it a belt drive? Prbably not a belt drive if you are looking at a C frame motor. Make sure your old motor says 56c exactly, if it has an extra letter it is probably custom for the oem and an off the shelf motor will not fit.
