Upgrade

Got home today and my cousins husband dropped off my new ratchet. He works at an industrial supply and gets me some pretty good deals. It's an Armstrong Maxx 1 1/2" long locking flex head. It's replacing an older Cman RP that I have had for more that twenty years. Nothing wrong with the CM, just wanted to upgrade.

The Armstrrong is a little longer, locks the flex, no quick release, has a thinner head, better feel/grip, better finish, and more teeth.

Here's both the old and new.

they come 60 tooth but are upgradable to 88 with a matco kit, very good ratchet, i use one for alignments quite often.

Do they make a comfort/soft grip in the Armstrong Maxx line? Really sold on that style but these armstrongs keep looking more and more appealing.

Now you can sell your Craftsman flex head for $500 on ebay. Just write "rare" "vintage" "hard to find" all over the auction.



On topic, that Armstrong is a superb ratchet. I'm sure you'll love using it.

It's essentially the same besides cosmetics, especially now that they're starting to come with the 88 kits in them.

I have that armstrong ratchet and all in all it has treated me pretty well. I have only warranted it once, and my matco guy put a fine tooth kit in it for me. I use it in my 2nd set of "at home tools"

Thanks guys, I like it. I went around the garage last night breaking loose and re-tightening lug nuts. The handle feels fine when in use and applying force.

It's 18 1/2" from head to toe and has 60 teeth. I don't plan on the 88 conversion. One of the first things I did was count the teeth to see if is was 60 or 88.
No soft grip Armstrong ratchets that I know of.
I really like the locking flex head. I got my first taste from my Kolbalt pass thru ratchets that are locking flex heads in both 1/4" and 3/8". I do actually like like the push button on the Kolbalts better than the Armstrong/Matco lever.
