Upgrading my fly fishing reel

Fly fishing is too expensive for what you get. If you spend good money on a quality fly reel, it should have quality parts.

I'm not a zealot in this way of thinking, I'm just using it as an excuse to play with my mini-lathe using some of God's metal (Titanium).

Gonna build me the world's finest fly reel handle using titanium and bronze. The pictures are self-explanatory:

Thanks! Don't know what the Ti costs exactly. It's usually $35/ft for 1/2" round bar, retail, but I got lucky in finding the scraps for cheap from a local metal supplier. Ebay is the next best source for cheap Ti.
