So I'm helping out a friend that is relocating to Hong Kong for a few years - he will be back in the states about once per quarter. I agreed to adopt his car so he doesnt have to sell it. To do so and not lose a parking spot or have to keep a car outside I am going to sell my kwik-lift (great lift, company sadly out of business) and get a four-post parking lift.
Looking for input - mainly on the things that might not be very obvious for someone looking for their first 4-post. Things you wish you had known or done when you (or someone you know) bought a 4-post. Should I assume these cannot be installed by me and my gearhead friends? Buy used?
I am splitting the cost with my friend and money isnt really a concern (except that I'm married) - but I also don't want to throw money away either. So if it is reasonable to install myself or find a pre-owned one local and it would save some cabbage - I'd rather do that.
Any input appreciated -
