The best part about having a doorbell camera is having proof if packages are delivered or not.
Yep,I have cams and they never came..will have it sent to store next time..I've been very lucky with EBay tools...it's usually USPS that screws up...man what a let down.

Been there. UPS delivered 2000 rounds of my ammo to a business up the street. Took an act of Congress to get them to release it to me. Only took UPS a week to figure out where the package went.

I had Fedex drop a package about a mile away. The guy was out of town and his mother accepted the package. It wasn't until he got home that the mistake was discovered. He brought it over a week after it was dropped at his house.

After we moved in (Spring last year) I _had_ to put up 2 new, black on white, house numbers. Now they have no excuse.

One time I had a bowling ball delivered to a house down the street from me. I went over and rang the doorbell once a day for three days... no one would ever come to the door. Two days later my package was on my doorstep. Name and address were correct on the package... Never seen or talked to those neighbors before or since

It's unfortunate that UPS service varies so much, but to be expected I suppose when you operate nationwide (and beyond I know).

My local drivers are phenomenal. They know me, they'll make every effort to get up my private road, and failing all else they'll leave packages at a local business in town where they know it's ok to do so.

My substitute holiday driver even opened my gate because he had 35 boxes on a wet snowy night and knew leaving them at my gate wasn't wise in the weather. He came up and shoved them all under my carport to keep 'em dry.

In my neck of the woods, for decades now, UPS and USPS are rock solid. Employees in both cases.
Fedex is a revolving door of contractors who bid the route and is a total **** show.
Ive tried to get Amazon to only use UPS or USPS, they won’t do it.

Yep. When it comes to UPS in my area, their slogan should be "Free problem with every package!"

I posted about it here when it happened. Long story short, UPS was incompetent, unwilling to help, didn't return phone calls. Three days later a little old lady down the street brought me my unopened package. She called UPS when it was delivered, but they never came to pick it up from her.

I'm at the point where I will not patronize businesses that only ship UPS.

UPS is terrible.

They have scanners that will confirm that they are delivering to the correct GPS co-ordinates for the address, but some drivers seem to be too stupid or lazy to use them.

I had a package that they claim was delivered but I never rec'd it. When I filed a claim they came out to investigate and the brought a map pinpointing where the package was delivered according to their scanner. It showed deliver co-ordinates right along a highway over 3000' from my home. The driver literally threw it off the truck into a open ditch. They paid the claim.

Ups misdelivers so often that if I have a choice, I will choose different shipper. At one point almost half of my deliveries went somewhere else or weren’t delivered. Drivers are constantly changing and don’t care. I don’t think they can read. They deliver at 9-10pm. USPS is actually more reliable.

When tracking shows delivered, I used to wait patiently for a day to see if the package shows up. Calling ups goes nowhere, they want you to contact vendor. The neighbors usually bring the package within a day.

Now, I immediately call contact vendor about lost package so they can at least try and make ups accountable. I think this actually may have helped since I haven’t had a misdelivered ups package in a while.

Happened to us with USPS...it was a 120 tool kit for my FIL....it will save me having to drag tools over then when I'm doing stuff for him.

I get a notification USPS delivered...I called my MIL to confirm the package showed up....nothing....nada....zilch.

Call Amazon and they ship out a new one.

I guess a USPS driver needed one

Happened to me on an Amazon order. They shipped it UPS and when it arrived, it was an empty box where the contents were removed. The driver noticed this and sent it back. Amazon quickly sent another via FedEx overnight.

With UPS, the power of POSITIVE can change these bad habits.

There was a guy in town who had a POSITIVELY bad UPS driver. They would leave boxes in the rain two feet from the covered porch. Kick boxes to the front door, Drop wooden crates on their corners to see if they would break open, etc.

One day, the POSITIVITY bad UPS driver was carrying a medium sized but quite heavy box to deliver. Placing it down gently seem too hard, so he just dumped it. The box hit the ground and broke open. A 1000 rounds of surplus .308 flew everywhere.

The guy can home that day to find a beautiful stack of cartridges and a sweetly written apology note. Apparently the UPS driver was POSITIVELY convinced that we was going to be hunted down and killed for his previous behavior.

After that, boxes were delivered with great care (fear?).

So, as you can see, UPS drivers can be retrained with the power of POSITIVE.

I've never really had problems with UPS or Fedex. Since as long as I can remember, I think I might have had one package miss delivered to another address, and one package that was delivered to me but it was actually for my neighbor.

USPS however.... damn I'm constantly getting mail delivered to me that isn't for my address... makes me wonder how much mail I'm missing.

UPS misdelivered a package one time.
I was expecting an important item.
I was outside and watched the UPS truck go by without stopping.
I immediately checked tracking and it showed delivered.
A quick call to the hub connected me to the driver, who told me to where he misdelivered just down the road.
UPS stayed on speakerphone with me while i went and "stole" my package from inside someones storm door.
Glad i didnt get shot.

I know there's good apples and bad apples in every bushel, and I have to say that our UPS delivery driver, and for the most part the "local" UPS infrastructure has been nothing but a pleasure to deal with. The USPS though? Not so much. Local offices seem to be on an unofficial "slow-walk" strike. It seems that every excuse can be made for non-delivery lately ("ice on stairs" on a clear day, "unable to enter building" (it's a single family residence)etc, etc, etc). Their service has grown increasingly frustrating, unfortunately.

Happens all the time to me.
UPS has gotten as dumb as a box of rocks and they care even less.
What was once a company I trusted has turned into a company that I don’t trust and even think it would be better for them to go under and get replaced by someone else.

Fortunately I have good neighbors and they bring the boxes to me otherwise half of the stuff I order I wouldn’t get.

BTW, UPS has developed the policy to mark in their computer that delivery was attempted and even that the “buisness was closed” when they don’t even put the package on the truck.
It seems that if it doesn’t make the truck they make it as attempted or unable to deliver (whatever BS for the day) so they can look to their customer (the people shipping it to you) like they are doing their job and that it is your fault that it was not delivered on time.

I have proven this several times when I get packages delivered and on the same day other packages are marked “buisness closed” or delivery attempted when it obviously was not.
I have called them and they will tell me that is still in the center and not on the truck. I complain and tell them that is false information and they don’t care.
Several times I have then contacted Amazon to tell them what happened and they will give me a credit. Amazon has told me to tell them every time that happens so they can track it

Sounds like 80% of my neighbors. If I didn't see lights on at night once in a while, I'd swear the houses were abandoned. (not uncommon around here as people flee the state).

Elderly relatives sent a Xmas package but switched the last 2 house number digits. No such house number, so UPS delivered to whatever was close. Honest neighbor dropped it off. I guess the driver didn't know what else to do, but I wonder if UPS address verification should have caught it.

I'm on a corner.

My house and the one across the street have the same house number, but face different streets.

You can guess what happens....

And he doesn't tell me when he gets my stuff.

One time I complained to Amazon that I didn't get my package. They sent another and then I got the one from the neighbor.
