Saw this on Facebook Marketplace, seems to be a drill press converted to a router table?

Is this something common?

Advertised as an alternative use for the DP for several years in catalogs. I've never seen it in practical application.

In at least one of the catalogs I ran across, they state that it's not to be used in this manner with a Morse taper chuck. There was a screw on chuck accessory offered as well. You'll see this upside down mounting touted in catalogs back to the pre-war days.
