Urethane over epoxy

I am doing an epoxy floor with a heavy chip broadcast and even though you guys recommend urethane the paint supplier i used was worried about how it would react with the epoxy basecoat, so he sold me two part waterbased clear epoxy to go on over the chips. I decidedto go ahead and am now in the middle of the job and just scraped the chips and am about to clear coat.
Question is.... Should i do a urethane over top of the clear expoy as well, and where in canada ( vancouver) can i buy urethane and can it go on in two weeks as i'll be out of town soon or do i need to do it when the clear epoxy is tacky.

The urethane is a good idea. It would be best if you applied once the clear coat has tacked off (can put your thumb into the floor without leaving an imprint).

The urethane will provide a more slip resistant surface than the clear epoxy if it gets wet.
The epoxy should be dry, before applying the urethane.

read that as "just dry"
When you can walk on it, it is ready for the next coat. Pretty simple.

Dry yes, fully cured no. You still need the epoxy to chemically bond with the epoxy.
If you move outside the 24 hour cure window a de-gloss will be necessary to obtain a mechanical bond.

How about skipping epoxy and use a polyaspartic instead (it's a 2-part aliphatic polyurea)? It's more durable, better elongation, won't fade.

I agree w Cruzin90, but I prefer the epoxy as primer and base coat and like to reserve the polyaspartic as a top coat

My vote makes three. Polyaspartic is the bomb. Unfortunately it exceeds some budgets.

In the end i should have allready ordered it and it is allready tack free. But i am very very pleased with the floor so far and could not have done it without all the great info on this site, now all thats left is seeing if it holds up. I will plan to use urethane when i do my brothers
