I would gladly partner with anyone near that auction to buy a whole lot of vintage and apparently veteran vises, pickup and ship me the balance not taken by them or others interested. Looks like it could be way cheaper than bidding on ebay for them.

I live in Auburn, AL which is about 30 mins from the this post in GA. I would be willing to pick up the vises and ship them for someone if I was allowed to keep 1 from the lot of 9-12.

These lots all seem to be going for less then $100 tonight. That's under $20 per vise. They close tomorrow.

Don't know how whoever has this all set up. but what the hell, IF someone was able to get all this put together Please officially count me for one of the vises.

Don't know if I'd wind up with a Wilton, Columbian, Yost etc. But for that price who cares right? Of course, everyone wants a Wilton Bullet but I'd settle for a BIG ol'Yost.

Sadly I could get none I wanted inside my budget. But I think I got it dialled in so I will keep my eyes open for more "must-have" stuff. I stayed low since I had to guess at true condition and factor in truck freight for what I guessed was actual weight. But they sold very close to what I hoped to pay. I am still in this hunt, so let me know if you see any others I might miss.

I am bidding on a 5-ton 6x6! My wife will kill me, especially since my uniform won't fit, and my HOA will go ape nuts since it is "ugly!"

Not a dry hole or bad deal. Someone likely got a fair deal. I just hope they don't get shipped to China!

The one lot I really liked I think went for about $70 each vise. Freight to me brought that to about $100 each. I added nothing for restoration, but assumed at least 1 was complete junk, and I needed to pay one out to the lucky "volunteer" in this thread who would retrieve them. Thus, I assumed about $150 each to my door. That was my very crude math. Another member has beautifully restored ones shipping at around $200. Thus I know it was foolish to get over that mark. So if I don't find one before another lot is auctioned, I will be bidding.

Yea I was lurking on that one as well. But went higher than I wanted to pay even though its only a 1.5hr ride. Plus I haven't done anything with the Morgan I got a year ago...

The CUCV is a good 4x4, basically a diesel Blazer, but i have a Land Rover already. So, the next thing better in my warped logic is 6x6. I almost bought an M35A1 a few years ago, but had no where to keep it. I want to have it just like it was in service, marked for my original hometown Reserve unit my Dad served with, a trucking company. Can't honor my Grandad, he was Navy and I live in the sand. LOL.

lol. I was lurking and hoping as well. I have watched many of these auctions and very few good items go for a steal. Didn't need another project anyway! :thumbup:
