For about the same price you can hook 3 smaller boxes together with 2 side boxes and get 14' of tool box. Unless you actually roll it around (very few do) you will end up with way more room.

Autoxvaliant, thats the type of feed back I wanted to hear! I'd love to see some pics of what it looks like after daily use in a cat shop. We run mostly cat, but our forestry equipment varies widely.

Ill get some better shots monday. Alot of guys are saying to connect boxes together. For me this is totally not practical. If im not on a long project i could be in 4 diffrent bays in a night. the 999.99 i got the box plus 80 iirc shiped. Its a no brainer. I love good tools. My Snap On,Mac, and Cornwell guys still take all my money. I just don't care if i have a flashy lime green box that i gotta worry about throwing parts on top of. My box is my mobile desk/work bench.

A bit slightly off topic, but I saw some people mentioning the prices of this tool box from HF.

Is their current price of $1200 the best that we should expect to see this box sell at? I know HF can typically not discount their larger items like this one, so I am just curious if I should maybe wait over the next couple of months to try and get one at a better deal or just get one now.

Most people just don't want to argue with me for some reason. So yes I went to the store mgr. after every one told me no, they couldn't order one for me. As you can see Between a few calls to their main office. I got what I wanted for the price I wanted. I learned it from the best of them, Good old Sears. (2029). Rich

I remember reading a thread about the 56" box that the drawer slide mounting holes were at a standard spacing and they simply included however many slides as the drawer called out for. That meant the drawers were pretty easy to reconfigure by simply popping out the slides and popping them into the new location. Does it seem the same with the 72" box? I believe there was also a price list someone got for replacement drawers on the 56" as well which allowed them to swap out some of the deeper ones for narrower ones.

I like the general layout of the 72" box more than any other box I have seen, but I really wish a few of the drawers were moved around or different. I hate side boxes and like having smaller drawers all the way up at least one side. Nobody makes exactly the box I think I need, but this being the closest, if it is reconfigureable could be winner enough. I only wish they stayed with the old manufacturer that had griplatch handles instead of those dumb corner slides :/

I know someone who has a 36 inch snap on next to a 44 inch HF......He seems to like the set up more than one huge box

Can some one post the coupon or the code for the 72" box. I'm thinking I may take the plunge.

A little late to the thread to add any value but as OLDLDH posted I have the 72" that I built into a hutch. I am in and out of it a few nights a week and almost all day on weekends doing various projects. It has held up very well. The drawers definitely work better with a little weight in them.

For some reason I don't have any straight on pics of the chest but here is what it looks like built into a hutch.

I did a review of the hutch on Youtube which if you can get past my bad voice over you can see a little more of the chest.

DUDE you are awesome! Now I wonder how long that sale code last?

No idea. It works online and at the very least, cuts down $130before tax (if my math still works after not using it much) in cost. Standard price is $1200 and by buying online, you pay the $70 shipping.

You can also do what Rich did and try it in-store and push it past the local store to get the code to work. Online works without having to hassle with it though (and it's delivered!).

I do wish there was a way to get them to take a coupon as well... I wonder if I have to still pay tax if I just order it instead of store pick up?

go online and put it into your basket, then use the coupon and see if it charges you sales tax. The coupon does work in store or online...

Funny I just called my local store and they have one in stock (not the floor model) and they confirmed the coupon does work. 1094 out the door. Ill be happy with that. Kind of an addiction considering I have a 60" stainless brushed full roll away, a HF 44" box, a HF 56" box and now there will be a HF 72" box:eyecrazy:.

Ok, here is my 72 inch set in place with my bottle opener installed. I put the 18inch side box on, I didn't realize it was not as deep as the main box, But I installed a Mack pry bar rack on the back of the 18 inch side box. Not sure if I will like it, I am almost afraid I will drop some thing behind the boxes.

For those who went from a slightly deeper box @ ~25" to the HF box @ ~20" drawer depths, did you feel like it was that much of a compromise in storage capacity/options?

Stroutly, What did you want a better picture of? My name plate, the box it came in or what. I am told that Ace hardware can order the kit from their whse, I am told that the letters are now plastic with chrome spray paint. Where these are some kind of pot metal with the chrome on them....Richie
Box was just a generic green box. No writing or nothing...

not an exact comparison, but my matco is 22". i bought a 44 as a secondary box. they are only 16" deep and i found it very frustrating to organize some of my longer and larger tools. ended up selling it and getting a snappy 41" box as my secondary.

I Found one at my local HF store, i was surprised they one in stock. Doesn't look too bad, but im worried that if a drawer roller breaks I might not be able to get a replacement, they drawers seem to move alot side to side, and the aluminum trim seems pretty cheesy. Also the "Coupon Codes" are no longer valid.
