Hi I'm interested in buying a us general top box from hf just wanted to see if #67831 top box is available on its own??? 26" or maybe some one knows of a box that look close to the hf line of tool boxes

I see you've been with us since 2013. No one welcomed you, so welcome now that you are posting.

It doesn't appear that HF sells just the top. I can see why you like that one because it's one of the few that have 6 rows of drawers and at half of the HF set's price, it would be a steal.

I want to buy the 44" bottom but need a bit of shelf space for books don't really want to get into a 44 top with side cab I need to tool the box around the shop thanks so much

Top chest is unavailable alone from HF. IMO buy the tool box combo and sell the other piece. The 26" combo is on "sale" every now+then for 300 bucks.

Unfortunately not.... unless you happen to run across a damaged box they set aside. Menards has one similar, but quite a bit more expensive. Your best bet would be to sell off the bottom, or keep it as a roll around cart. It is a good size and alot of storage for a home shop cart. Just something to consider.

My local HF , Bend, Oregon,has one in the scratch and dent section for, I believe, for $180.

^ ^ This is likely best method for OP to find just the top box on that set. Call that HF store and see if any computerized way to search other HF stores that also have "scratch & dent" top box as well.

has anyone confirmed that you actually can't order the top box, over the phone? They may offer it as replacement part, just not listed on the site.

I would buy the bottom to use as a stand for a grinder or sander but am a bit far from you.
Someone near you will want it and I bet you can sell it for just a little over half the price of the pair

Good point I think I might just do that I called hf and told me they won't sell it as a separate box

As others have said, you're s.o.l. on just the top. Unless you can get a scratch/dent or returned one, or buy the set and sell the bottom..
Ask the manager at the local store. They may be able to do it, or have one in the back. Maybe even sell the display???
