When will the US General series 3 boxes be released? Will they be updating the entire lineup or just the 72" box?

I’m wondering what/if the price increase will be. I’m ready to pull the trigger on a 56” top and bottom.. I’d wait for the new model, but I’d hate if it’s a huge increase, but it doesn’t blow me away.

Fully modular, wonder if that means you can move drawers around to your liking? New latches, probably going to the full drawer width latch? Deeper drawers, is that further back or taller?

I love that there are two full length drawers on the bottom cabinet now.
56 is more than I need but I was wary with the old 44 that I might not have enough long drawers for torque wrenches, breaker bars etc.
Heading to the states at the end of the month (from Canada)... Was really hoping these would be out by the time my trip came around but that might be wishful thinking.

Can't find if there will be a series 3 top chest similar to the series 2. Top chest coming as well or just the hutch?

the 72" Series 2 had 18 drawers The new series 3 has 14 drawers. It looks like a step back to me with less drawers and a bad layout in my opinion. Too many tall drawers. It also appears to be shorter overall compared to the series 2.
Also the 44" series 3 appears to have 10 drawers while the series 2 had 13.
I now wish I would have pulled the trigger on a series 2, 72". This series 3 doesn't impress me much

Here's the original Series 3 thread

I just got a call this morning saying that after waiting a month, my red 72" just arrived in store.
So, they might still have 'em out there.

Not with regard to any of the above HF tool chests, but just to mention — that my next door neighbor bought a Husky rolling tool chest yesterday @ HomeDepot that was $80 less than the comparable-in-size HF one.

Just stopped in the store and checked one out. With just a quick look it appeared to be pretty nice.
The new drawer locks ****, way too small for my paws. I'd have to go the magnet method.

local store has one set up. i'm glad i got my series 2 last year. I don't like the drawer latch mechanism, or that you lose four drawers to gain one additional long and a power drawer.

The second full length drawer on the bottom box is nice. Don’t see me replacing my 72 top and bottom series 2 for the three. Would like to go from a black box to a white box though. Had my 72 3 years now and still looks brand new. Great box would recommend to anyone.

I saw one of these in person at the Bellevue, WA HF. Still felt super cheap compared to my Homak, I understand they are different price points but my 54" homak RS pro combo was under 2k when I bought it in 2019. Seems they have gotten $$$$.

The slides were not smooth at all, and the latch mechanism was funky to open.

ymmv.

I think the new slate grey color is what’s selling these things, at least I’m assuming they’re selling? Looking past the color, the box is just ok, nothing great! Looks to be a $1200 box with a $600 color on it in my opinion! I’ll be curious to see how well this box sells in the previous standard colors?
